Petit Verdot is typically blended in small amounts with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to add spice, depth and color. We set aside a few barrels for club members to experience this varietal’s unique lavender and white pepper aromas. Firm tannins surround the wine’s spicy core, which is why we’ve leavened it with Merlot. Over time it opens up to reveal graphite and cigar box. Toasted notes from the barrel lend warmth to the nose and mouthfeel. Pull the cork on this an hour before serving so you can experience its full aromatic potential.
